The Southern Pacific 4449 leads its excursion southward through the farmland of central Oregon.

Running late, the SP 4449 leads the Cascades Daylight over the first of several bridge crossings over the Deschutes River, a waterway the train traveled along shortly after reentering Oregon.

The Cascades Daylight exits one of several tunnels featured back to back just west of the small town of Lyle, Washington.
